Jaap Stam hopes to keep his Royals side in a winning 'flow' with three points at Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
After a convincing 3-1 victory over Derby's East Midlands rivals, Nottingham Forest, on Tuesday night, Stam says he hopes for another maximum haul going into the latest international break.
The Royals' manager said he wants to use the positive result in midweek to spur his side on heading into the weekend.
Stam elaborated: "We said it after Leeds as well, we want to keep that momentum going and you want to stay in a certain flow to keep winning your games.
"Every game is difficult but after a win it's always a better feeling, the preparation towards the next game is always a bit easier.
"It's another difficult game again at Derby, especially as they're doing well. They've got a good team, so we need to be on the front foot to do well, to get a result over there."
The Royals have been bolstered in recent weeks by the returns of John Swift and Yann Kermorgant, with the latter signing a one-year contract extension to retract his previously planned retirement at the end of the season.
The Rams, meanwhile go into Saturday's game unbeaten in seven matches, winning their last four, and will pose a significant threat as one of the form teams in the Championship.
Stam is aware of this, and he is hopeful of taking another three points on the road at Pride Park this weekend.
"We need to understand that we're facing very good teams. Forest is a good team, they play very good football.
"Middlesbrough was a very good team, they'd just come down from the Premier League. Derby is a team that is always going for promotion every season.
"We need to work very hard to get results, going to Derby on Saturday of course we're going to go for it. They're going to make it very difficult for us because they want to have a result as well, but with a win we go over there with confidence that we can make it very difficult for anybody."
Supporters can take advantage of affordable pricing for Saturday's game, with Derby reciprocating the club's 'Twenty's Plenty' away ticket scheme. Full details by clicking the button below.
