Swift hopes to take midweek success to Derby

Midfielder says Royals can take heart from Forest performance

"Every game is tough. We can't just think we've done well against Forest and then we'll do well against Derby."

John Swift is pragmatic about his side's hopes ahead of Saturday's away trip to high-flying Derby County, following on from Tuesday night's success against Nottingham Forest.

Swift's double in midweek helped the Royals to victory at Madejski Stadium, and he hopes to build on the success his team-mates had against Forest to propel them to a good result on Saturday afternoon.

The midfielder says he believes the Royals should take heart from the strong midweek performance, saying: "It'll be another tough game away from home, but it's good that we've had a performance like Tuesday night and to know we can go into Derby knowing we can play really good, attacking football.

"When we are under the cosh a bit, we can hold on. Hopefully this will be a big confidence boost for me and the whole team.

"We've shown what we can do. If we can build on the performance we had on Tuesday, gain confidence from it and go into Derby with the same belief, the same desire, hopefully we can get a result."
