Jaap Stam has backed his side to turn their fortunes around with the visit of Nottingham Forest to Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.
Following defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday and the loss of Tiago Ilori after a freak clash of heads with team-mate Liam Moore, Stam wants his side to bounce back immediately.
He said: "Everybody wants to put Saturday right, but the thing is we need to do certain things better in the game to create more opportunities, to score goals and win games.
"We're working hard, we're trying to do that and keep the mistakes to a minimum.
"In previous games we've played this season, there have been certain decisions from us that have cost us games, and that's what happened against Middlesbrough."
Forest, meanwhile, come into Tuesday night's match off the back of an enthralling 3-2 victory against Hull City at the weekend, with young Everton loanee Kieran Dowell netting his first senior hat-trick to earn his side all three points.
Stam is happy to be getting straight back out onto the Madejski turf on Tuesday, adding: "It's good to have three games in a week because you want to do well.
"You want to win your games, with a defeat like Middlesbrough, you want to come back from that. It's not the easiest way of coming back from it, but that's how it is, with a lot of games in a short period.
"With the first one, Forest at home, we need to be there again and give everything we can again, and hopefully get the three points."
Kick-off at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night is at 8pm.
