Sone Aluko says he cannot wait to make an impact on the pitch in a Reading shirt, with the chance to make his debut against Bristol City on Saturday.
Aluko brings a wealth of experience in both the Premier League and Championship with him to Reading, and he knows the rigours of a 46-game league season as well as anyone.
First and foremost, though, he says he feels prepared to make his debut as soon as possible and add his influence to the team.
He said of Saturday's opponents: “There aren’t a lot of surprises anymore in this league, because there are so many games you see how most teams play.
“You always get the videos and clips, so there aren’t a lot of secrets but every game is tough. They come thick and fast, and every team poses their own challenges.
“We’re preparing well, we’ve had some tough sessions, we’re looking forward to it and it’s been a good week so we’re confident going into the game.”
The Royals return to Madejski action on Saturday afternoon against Bristol City, 3pm kick-off.
Aluko adds that he is fit and raring to go and make his debut as soon as possible, with the Championship getting back underway at the weekend.
“You always want to get the games in, I want to make my debut and start contributing. A lot of people worked very hard to get me here so I want to repay those efforts.
“All good, no problems. Last week I didn’t train too much, I had a groin niggle but I’m all good now so I’m looking forward to it."
