With the challenge of playing Brentford at Griffin Park lying before the Royals this weekend, summer signings Leandro Bacuna and Jón Daði Böðvarsson have urged the side to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
The Royals lost their first home match for eight months last weekend against Bristol City, with Aden Flint's finish six minutes from time separating the sides on the day.
With several signings adding to the Royals' squad depth going forward, Bacuna says that the competition for places is benefitting the squad as a whole.
Meanwhile, Böðvarsson is aiming to take the positive elements of the team's performance at Madejski Stadium last time out and turn that into three points at Griffin Park.
The striker said: “Bristol City was a game we should have buried in my opinion. It was just one of those days, so we need to swallow that and focus on the next game.
“I thought we defended quite well, it was an unlucky goal to concede. We need to keep learning and come back stronger.
“We need to bounce back, it’s really important to do that. It’s going to be a tough game.
“We need to keep the same structure that we’ve been building up, the same game plan and just keep on going."
The Royals took to the town centre yesterday for their official squad photo for this season!
Bacuna added: “Everyone has to be sharp, if you don’t perform well then there’s someone else who can take your place, which for the squad is a great thing.
“For the players it keeps them motivated to try and stay in the starting eleven.
“I’m a bit up and down against Brentford, had some wins there and some losses but it’s a difficult place to go.
“We’re going to train on that, and get ourselves ready for the game."
