Evans pleased for little lull after busy August

Midfielder on a quiet international weekend

4 September 2017

Seven games squeezed into the first three weeks of the season – it has been a lightning-fast start to the 2017/18 campaign.

The Royals went into the current international period with winning momentum, having defeated Millwall and Birmingham in our last two outings.

But George Evans feels that Reading can enjoy the break after a good early return.

“The games have come thick and fast in the first month – we can’t complain about that,” said the former Man City man.

“That’s great for everyone and the lads all relish it.  It’s good just to keep going.

“But this international period gives us a nice, comfortable two-week break.  We can enjoy it after a win, and we’ll be looking forward to the next game.”

Once all of the international Royals are back at base, our next game follows on Saturday when we host Bristol City in a 3pm kick-off.
