“There’s no reason we shouldn’t fly into the game full of confidence!”

Edwards upbeat ahead of Norwich outing

29 September 2017

Dave Edwards is approaching Saturday’s outing against Norwich City with a bright and positive outlook – we take on the Canaries at 5.30pm at Madejski Stadium.

He might have been excused for being a tad downcast after falling to a turnaround defeat at Millwall… but quite conversely, the midfielder feels that Reading have every reason to approach the game in good spirits.

Van den Berg: "We can't stick in negativity, we have to move forward"

“That’s the good thing about the Championship – when you get disappointing results, then the games come around thick and fast,” Edwards said.

“We’ve got an international break after this so it’s an important week – we want to go into that with three points in our back pocket, because it’s a long break when you haven’t won.  We’ll do all we can this week in preparing for Norwich on Saturday.

“I’m really confident in this group of boys that we can get a result and start a run.  So it’s important that we pick ourselves up quickly.

“It’s a game that we’ll have to get tactically right, because they have good players and they will have wanted a better start to the season themselves.  It’s an important game for both teams.

“But at home and in front of the cameras, there’s no reason that we shouldn’t fly into the game full of confidence.  We need to do that with the work that we put in during the rest of the week.”
