Back-to-back wins at Madejski Stadium – that’s the aim. We host Preston North End this Saturday, with a chance to earn three more important points.
The ground was rocking when we hosted QPR on Good Friday… midfielder George Evans wants more of the same, on the pitch and in the stands.
“The atmosphere last Friday was absolutely brilliant – it was up there with the play-off game against Fulham last year,” George said. “That’s the only one that could really compete with it.
“That makes a big difference… and with Vito saving that penalty, I’ve not heard a roar like that for a long time!
“It does spur you on, as players. Hopefully we can see everyone there on Saturday – hopefully that can push us forward, as well as a good performance from us.
“We know that we haven’t been good enough this season, and that we need to start winning more games. Our home games are massive for us at this stage of the season.
“For the fans and the players, last Friday was a big lift. But we need to do more. We need to continue with it and we want to get three points again.”
Alex Neil’s Lilywhites have been up around the play-off positions all season… therefore there’s nothing to be taken for granted on Saturday.
“We know the qualities of Preston – they’re not an easy team to beat,” continued George.
“But when I look around and see the quality in our own team, I know we can beat any team in this league. We need to show that.
“We need to prove it on Saturday, show that we’ve got the better players and that we’ve got the will to get the three points.
“You can’t look too far forward; we are taking it a game at a time. We’ll want to win on Saturday and try to take that momentum into next week.”
