Ahead of the game | Stern Sunderland test awaits

'Massive' Black Cats clash on Saturday in RG2

13 April 2018

It has been billed as the biggest game of our season, and we'd love to see you in RG2 on Saturday afternoon...

Clement feels Royals’ support ‘absolutely vital’ against Black Cats

12 April 2018

Reading vs Sunderland
Saturday 14th April, 3pm
Sky Bet Championship
Madejski Stadium

Paul Clement says Saturday's game against Sunderland will be the 'biggest of the season' at Madejski Stadium, and it's not difficult to understand why.

For the Royals, three points could be a big step towards safety in the Championship, while Sunderland are in desperate need of points to try and force their way out of the bottom three in their final four matches.

A replication of December's 3-1 victory over the Black Cats would be welcomed among the RG2 faithful, a brace from Mo Barrow supplemented with a calm finish from Dave Edwards as the Royals brought all three points back from Wearside on the day.

With two victories in as many home matches in charge for Clement, he is well aware of the task at hand as he prepares to face a team that demolished promotion-chasing Derby County 4-1 recently.

It's sure to be another tight affair at Madejski Stadium, and we'd love to see as many of you there as possible to back the boys!

Tickets are on sale now and will be available to purchase on the day of the game for all home supporters. For all ticketing enquiries, follow the link to our Ticket Office page or contact the Ticket Office by phone on 0118 968 1313.

EFL title sponsors Sky Bet have Reading as 13/10 favourites to take victory on Saturday afternoon, while Sunderland are available at 2/1 for the three points - the draw is priced at 12/5.

After his goal at home last weekend, Mo Barrow is available at 5/1 to open the scoring on Saturday afternoon, while Liam Kelly is available at 12/1 to score the game's first goal.

Stephen Martin will be in control of proceedings on Saturday afternoon, officiating his fourth Reading game of the season. He has also overseen our win at St. Andrew's back in August, as well as draws against Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest.

Swift: "We need fans as 12th man"

12 April 2018

He has brandished the yellow card 85 times this season, averaging around 2.3 per match, having also sent off two players so far this campaign.

Ian Cooper and Andrew Fox will be Mr Martin's assistants on the day, with Lee Collins as fourth official.
