“Everyone is competitive for positions!”

13 August 2018

Reading vs Birmingham City
Tuesday 14th August
8pm kick-off
Carabao Cup First Round
Madejski Stadium

After the first two games of league action for the Royals, attention now turns to the First Round of the Carabao Cup - with Birmingham City the visitors at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Royals made it to the Third Round stage of the competition last season, eventually going out to Paul Clement's Swansea side last September.

Now he's in the dugout in RG2, Clement will be hoping to put a run together in the competition - starting against Garry Monk's side at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday.

Loader and Frost on target in U23 draw

13 August 2018

Remember, there have been a couple of rule changes in the Carabao Cup this season, including the removal of extra time - so the tie will go straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes!

Advance prices are just £7 for Adult tickets, so it's a great chance to come and back the boys in a cup competition.

Birmingham were winners of the tournament back in 2011, beating Arsenal at Wembley to do so. While a repeat of that success this season is unlikely for Garry Monk and his squad, they will be coming to RG2 in the hope of getting their own cup run going.

Changes to both teams are likely, as Paul Clement keeps the whole squad match fit and gives opportunities for players to impress in a cup competition.

It'll be another competitive affair at Madejski Stadium in midweek, so make sure you're here to back the boys!
