Reading will be hoping to earn their first points of the Championship season away at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night, but they face a tough task - with Tony Mowbray's side having turned their home into a fortress over the past year.

Mowbray's men haven't lost a league match at Ewood Park since last September, a run of 21 matches of league action.

This remarkable home form was the cornerstone of Rovers' promotion back to the second tier at the first attempt, as the former Premier League champions bounced back by finishing as runners-up to Wigan Athletic last term.

Rovers have begun their return to the Championship solidly, going unbeaten in their first three matches and putting five points on the board. They started with draws against Ipswich and Millwall, before dispatching Carlisle United in the Carabao Cup - following that up with their first league win of the season against Hull City at the weekend.

The Royals, meanwhile, welcomed young winger Josh Sims to the club on Monday - arriving on a season-long loan from Southampton.

He will go straight into training with his new team-mates, and will be eligible for selection to possibly make his Royals debut at Ewood Park.

Adrian Popa also came off the bench at the weekend for the Royals, having recovered from an injury, and he will be pushing for a starting place at Blackburn.

Championship title sponsors, Sky Bet, make the hosts odds-on favourites at 3/4 for victory at Ewood Park, while the Royals are priced at 4/1 for the win. You can get odds of 5/2 on the points being shared on Wednesday night.

After joining on loan on Monday, Josh Sims is available at 20/1 to open the scoring up in Lancashire on Wednesday night, also priced at 7/1 to score any time in the 90 minutes, should he make his Royals debut in Blackburn.
