Royals boss Paul Clement updated us on the latest team news for Reading ahead of this weekend's visit to Nottingham Forest.
There are still some longer-term absentees who won't be ready for selection; however Tyler Blackett is available for selection once again after serving his suspension.
The left-back's dismissal against Sheffield Wednesday in April meant that his three-game suspension rolled over to the first game of this season... now that's out the way, the 24-year-old could rejoin competitive action at the City Ground.
"Adrian Popa has rejoined training, but it’s too soon for him to be involved tomorrow," Clement explained.
"But Tyler Blackett is back from suspension – it feels like the longest suspension ever! It’s since April that he has been unavailable, so it’s good to have him back and we’re good to go at Forest.
"He did six weeks’ work, and then was unavailable for the first game. But hopefully that will serve him well for the future, so that he doesn’t make those kinds of unnecessary errors to get sent off and get a ban.
"But he’s good to go. He’s fit, he’s been working hard and he is very motivated."
This week has been the first lengthy spell of training that Sam Baldock has managed to do with his new teammates too - it was a rather whistle-stop arrival and turnaround ahead of his debut from the bench against Derby last Friday.
"Sam had a bit of a stop-start pre-season during his time with Brighton," Clement continued.
"But he has had good training seasons with us. He has integrated well with the group and he’s taking on board the way that we want to play. He’s ready for selection."
Meanwhile, Forest have no injury concerns of their own and Karanka has a full deck to choose from.
In fact, their squad has been strengthened since their last outing - defender Michael Hefele joined from Huddersfield Town on Thursday on a permanent switch.
Karanka told Forest's official website: "Everyone is fit for the game including Joe Worrall who is now back training with us again.
"The team selection for Saturday will be a difficult one for me as the players who came in on Tuesday played very well but it is a good problem for me to have."
