The start of a new season is almost upon us and one of the stand out stars of last season has been impressing in the warm-up matches.
"It's come around really quickly," Liam Kelly said of the new campaign. "It doesn't seem long ago that we finished the last season, but now we're back again and ready for the new one!
"The opposition we've come up against in pre-season has been tough, which has been good for us. I'd rather have that than go into pre-season games knowing you're going to win.
"And Palace last weekend was a good game for us, even though the result wasn't as planned. I thought, especially in the first half, we showed how we can play - and hopefully we can take that into Friday night.
"We've had a long six or seven weeks preparing, the manager has really instilled his ideas into us. And everyone knows the plan.
All eyes are now on the EFL opener against Frank Lampard's Derby County on Friday night!
"Results don't matter in presason. It's all about Friday now," Kelly continued.
"I was a Chelsea fan and so I was a big admirer of Frank Lampard. Now he's taken up coaching and he'll bring all his experience to Derby no doubt.
"We know how they're going to come. They'll be full of new ideas with the new manager in place, but our focus will be on us and how we're going to play.
"It's only one of 46 games along a long road. But we want to get off to the best possible start."
