Young Reading goalkeeper Luke Southwood was a welcome guest at one of our Community Trust’s Soccer Schools recently, as a group of local youngsters kept themselves active over the summer holidays!
Taking place regularly across Reading and the Thames Valley region during the school holidays, Soccer Schools are a great way of youngsters meeting new friends, staying busy, and developing their football skills ‘the Reading way’.
And every so often, participants get a treat when a Reading player drops in and makes an appearance!
That’s what happened when Luke arrived at the session in Goring. As well as getting involved with the action, 20-year-old stopper Southwood also took questions in a Q&A session at the end… he was quizzed on any number of subjects, including about winning the Under-20 World Cup with England!
And some lucky young Royals fans went home with some unique souvenirs, too!
There are still some places available for Soccer Schools in the coming week, and we’ll soon be announcing more dates for the October half-term.
