Our fledgling Academy footballers, their family members and Academy staff took to the streets of Green Park at a recent fixture to raise funds for two fantastic charities.
Sporting some blue Santa hats – and with the youngsters in their club kit, too – a blue wave rolled away from Madejski Stadium, through Green Park, and finished five kilometres later back at the South Stand before our Under-23s took on Manchester United.
And, at time of writing, the fundraising total is just shy of £2,000; there’s still time to donate and push us over the line.
Each runner’s £5 registration fee went has been split between donations for our Community Trust’s Disability Programme and Action Bladder Cancer, totally £765 when all counted.
And further fundraising has taken place online through a JustGiving page – over £1,200 worth of additional funds have been donated to Action Bladder Cancer, the chosen charity of our former Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan.
So if you want to donate, and help to push that figure past the £2,000 threshold, just click here to head to the JustGiving page.
