Royals mascot Kingsley Royal took a trip to St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School earlier this month to deliver an early Christmas present to the pupils.
To celebrate the Community Trust's Primary Stars programme, the maned mascot paid a visit to donate a free equipment pack as part of Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme.
The scheme offers primary school teachers the chance to apply for a free Nike football strip or a free equipment pack for their school.
“We work closely with Reading FC Community Trust on the Premier League Primary Stars programme and have a club mentor join us one day a week, using football as a motivator to get children engaged in learning. Today has been extra special, having Kingsleyattend and present us with a fantastic equipment pack.” - Michael Robinson, KS2 Team Lead
And Kingsley surprised pupils when he walked into their morning assembly to deliver an early Christmas present for them all. The pack included footballs, numbered and lettered floor spots and giant dice, which teachers at the primary school can now use in lessons across the curriculum to help inspire children to learn and be active.
