Lunchtime kick-off and BT Sport coverage for Man Utd FA Cup tie

12.30pm start at Old Trafford

6 December 2018

Reading’s FA Cup Third Round tie away at Manchester United has been arranged – it will kick off at 12.30pm on Saturday 5th January at Old Trafford.

The fixture will also be broadcast live on BT Sport in the UK and other stations across the world, giving Reading fans everywhere a chance to watch the Royals in action at the Theatre of Dreams.

It’s the tenth time in our history that we’ve been drawn against Red Devils in the world’s oldest cup competition… although we have only once won our tie.  That came back in 1927 when we needed two replays to get through! However that victory did form part of our pathway to the competition’s semi-finals stages…the furthest we have ever been in the FA Cup.

More recently, we took United to a replay with a 1-1 draw in 2007 when Brynjar Gunnarsson levelled in the second half at Old Trafford. The replay at Madejski Stadium turned into a five-goal thriller that season! Two years ago, a goal apiece by Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial and two for Marcus Rashford sent the home side through.

Ticket details, potential replay information and any relevant selling criteria for this Third Round tie will be announced in due course.
