Marshall is expected to take charge of first team management duties in a caretaker role on Saturday evening when the Royals host Sheffield United at Madejski Stadium.

Scotsman Marshall joined the Royals as U23 manager in September 2017 and has worked closely with the aspiring young players who have come through our Academy ranks with the aims of breaking into the senior team.

As well as helping to develop players such as Danny Loader, Tom McIntyre, Andy Rinomhota, Omar Richards and Tom Holmes over the past two seasons, Marshall has also led the Under-23 side to a current streak of 14 games without defeat, including five straight wins to take them to the top of the Premier League 2 table.

During a previous role at Aston Villa, Scott was in the dugout for an FA Cup win for the Villans against Leicester during a caretaker spell – Leandro Bacuna was the match-winner that day!

A reminder to our supporters that this weekend’s fixture kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday at Madejski Stadium as we meet the Blades.

And we want as many Royals fans in the stands on Saturday, getting behind Scott and the boys... there are three important points at stake and your support will be vital!
