The Royals came together with the KidsOut charity to install a Giving Tree in the Megastore at the start of the month. And there is still time for supporters to pay a visit to the Tree in the megastore, take a tag and give a little back to those who need it most this Christmas.
How you can give a Giving Tree gift this Christmas...
- Visit the Megastore BEFORE FRIDAY and pick a gift tag from one of the branches on the Giving Tree. Each tag will have a name (although the real names of the children in question have been protected), their age and a gift on their wish list this Christmas.
- Buy the gift for the recipient on that tag and bring the gift (with its tag) back to the megastore before the end of the week - Friday 14th December is the last opportunity you will have to selflessly buy a gift for another. And please ensure the gift is unwrapped.
- In conjunction with KidsOut, the present will then be wrapped and the toy will be delivered to a child in refuge.
Through their life-changing work, KidsOut give disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce.
Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse to seek sanctuary in refuge, typically leaving home with only the clothes on their back.
KidsOut works to remind these children and thousands of others living with disadvantages what it is like to be children and just have fun.

The first KidsOut day out took place in June 1990 for only a couple of hundred children. Today, KidsOut partners with Rotary to take more than 25,000 disadvantaged children on our National Day Out each year and thousands more through Fun Days, with thousands of Toy Boxes also presented to kids who really appreciate them.
Whatever their disadvantage, KidsOut brings fun and excitement into children’s lives as well as hope for a better future.
So, this Christmas, if you are able to afford a gift for a deserving but disavantaged child, please visit our Giving Tree 2018.
