The prize, as given out by the Midlands Programme Club, saw entries from across the Football League and the judges were impressed by the value for money offered in our essential pre-match reading.

A representative of the Midlands Programme Club said: "The quality of the match day programme for the 2018/19 season is excellent, however, yours stood out from the others and received some excellent feedback from the panel of judges for its layout, informative articles, packed pages with plenty of reading material, great use of colour and eye-catching first impression of the cover.

"The '250 Club' feature was excellent, along with dedicated pages to community, youth and younger fans. Overall, a brilliant issue and great value for money at only £3."

Norwich City were the overall winners in the Championship, but our latest issue of The Royal will be available for supporters to buy on Saturday when we welcome Middlesbrough!

The cover features one of the most famous moments at Madejski Stadium so far - Leroy Lita's celebration after firing the Royals to victory in their first ever Premier League game in 2006... against Boro!

You can get an extended look at our opponents, catch up with the latest club news, hear from caretaker boss, Scott Marshall and skipper Paul McShane - and much, much more in Saturday's issue.

Trevor Senior's Reading career is profiled in Saturday's edition of the '250 Club,' while you can try your hand at naming just a few players to pull on a blue and white shirt in RG2 with our Madejski Men quiz.

Pick up your copy from any of our sellers all around the ground this weekend, and see why our programme has been honoured by getting your copy for only £3!
