Sam Baldock has insisted the Royals will be going into Boxing Day's crucial clash against Millwall full of motivation.
With José Gomes set to take charge of his first Reading game at The Den, in a famously raucous atmosphere, with both teams level on points in the Championship table, it's certain to be a hard-fought match in London.
With the Championship season now at its halfway stage, both the Royals and Millwall will be hoping for better fortunes in the remaining 23 league games.
On the challenge ahead, Baldock said: “It’s like every game we’ve got in the Championship at the minute. They’re all up for the same points, but if we can take those points off a rival down at the bottom, I know it’s not where we want to be, but it is where we are, so they’ll be more appreciated.”
"We’ve all played against Millwall before, so we won’t shirk back. We got a good result with them here earlier on in the season and hopefully we can follow that up again.
"Everyone loves a Boxing Day fixture as well, don’t they!
“If you have to work over the Christmas period when everyone else is off - you might as well get some points from it!
"It is an exciting one, we know there’ll be a lot of people there and it will be a tough atmosphere, but we will be ready to go.”
