The team have been out in Spain during the last week, preparing for the run-in to the current season.
Nothing will be decided on Tuesday evening alone when we visit Nottingham Forest – win, lose or draw, there’ll still be plenty to play for in the final three months of the campaign. But three more points by the time the evening is out would be welcomed indeed!
Here’s what some of the players and staff have been saying from Spain ahead of this midweek meeting in the Midlands…
Jaap Stam: We’re looking at the first game that we need be playing against Nottingham Forest – although the camp isn’t only for that game! It’s for the long term and getting benefit out of it. But we’re using the camp to try and prepare for that match.
Chris Gunter: Forest haven’t had too many good results of late – they’ll be thinking that they’re at home and will want to win the game as well. It’s a game where we need to go there and keep doing the things we’re doing well, and knowing that there are things we need to do better. It’s a good chance, and when you have a lot of games in a short space of time, it’s important that you play well and pick up results.
Vito Mannone: It’s a tough Tuesday game away from home. And then we have a few more fixtures where we need the points, so regardless of who we’re playing, we need to go for the three points in each game.
Dave Edwards: We’re full of belief that we can go there and get the three points. We beat them earlier in the season at the Madejski, and hopefully we can repeat that. We know we have got enough quality in the squad to be a challenge for anyone in the league, but we’ve got to go and show that.
