Reading Football Club can confirm that 30-year-old winger Roy Beerens has completed a transfer to Dutch top tier side, Vitesse Arnhem, signing a three-and-a-half year deal with the Eredivise side for an undisclosed fee.
The Bladel-born forward signed for the Royals from Hertha Berlin in July 2016, making 51(+12) appearances under Jaap Stam whilst scoring nine goals during his year and a half in RG2.
Beerens has made just nine starts for the first team this season and he returns to play his football in his native Netherlands after an absence of nearly four years, having left AZ Alkmaar for the German capital in 2014.
Vitesse, who were our opponents in pre-season last summer, currently sit in sixth position in the Dutch top flight and host Groningen on Friday night. Everyone at Reading, would like to wish Roy the very best of luck in Arnhem and in his future endeavours.
