Reading Football Club are delighted to announce the launch of an innovative new E-Cash scheme, giving Royals fans the opportunity to earn additional points, and subsequently prizes, for Royals Rewards – the club’s loyalty programme that was launched last summer.

Season Ticket holders for the 2017/18 campaign will have noticed small cosmetic changes to their access card when it landed on their doormat last summer, but it’s fair to say that the exciting developments are held within its new capabilities.

The cards themselves house new technology that will give Royals fans the opportunity to use their card as a pre-paid payment card – with both chip & pin and contactless functionality.

You can begin using your cards at Madejski Stadium at this evening’s FA Cup replay with Stevenage, and get started by activating the top-up function via the E-Cash page on your Royals Rewards portal. Please click here for information of how you can access your portal.

Initially the cards can be used for merchandise purchases in the Megastore at Madejski Stadium, whilst refreshments on the concourse and at the Millennium Madejski Hotel can also be acquired with a tap on a reader. The club is also at an advanced stage negotiating deals with local retailers and partners in the town centre to sign up to the scheme.

Full details of how you can activate and setup your card can be found via the explainer animation at the top of this article, whilst you can also find written instructions by clicking here. Please note that all supporters will need to complete a chip & pin payment before being able to use the contactless function.

We hope you enjoy using your new card, and we are very much looking forward to introducing new and exciting features as the scheme progresses – including the opportunity to earn cashback. Should you have any queries regarding your new card, please email them to the club on
