Illness ruled Jón Daði Böðvarsson out of our FA Cup trip to Stevenage, while Liam Moore was rested after picking up a knock in our game against Birmingham. But the pair could return this weekend, manager Jaap Stam revealed.
“They’re back in training – Jón Daði is feeling better,” Stam said. “He’s not 100 per cent yet but he’s joining in the training sessions, and the same goes for Liam Moore.
“Everybody is very aware of what we need to do and everyone wants to do their best. They’re all pushing, they’re looking sharp, focused and fit. That’s a good sign for Saturday.”
Böðvarsson scored in the first encounter of the season between the teams, as we came from behind to take a 1-1 draw against the Tigers at Madejski Stadium.
The manager revealed that looking over the meeting back in September forms part of their preparation – although only to a certain extent, with former Royals boss Nigel Adkins being given the manager’s role at the KCOM since then.
“We’re looking at the last few games that they’ve played of course, but also the game that we played against them earlier in the season – how they played and which players played,” he continued.
“But they have a different manager and a different way of playing. They won’t be changing everything, but certain things will we expect to be different.”
