For our youngsters, there’s a chance to make some serious inroads into the country’s premier youth competition – a win away against Charlton on Tuesday evening would mean a place in round five, and a trip to either Colchester United or MK Dons.

FA Youth Cup, fourth round
With Man City already out of the competition – who have contested the final in each of the previous three years against Chelsea – there’ll definitely be a different team in this year’s final. And Liverpool and Arsenal meet in round four, so another scalp will be taken too.
But that’s all in the distant future – none of that will matter if the Royals don’t overcome the Addicks on Tuesday evening! Our fixture takes place at Park View Road, home of Welling United.
Charlton have had a chance to build a bit of momentum in the competition. Wins against Whitehawk, Exeter City and Queens Park Rangers will have filled the London club with some confidence going into the game…
… the Royals, who entered in round three, were 2-1 winners in an eventful game against Millwall at Madejski Stadium in our only other outing to date. Each team had a man sent off and Jordan Holsgrove’s spot-kick was saved… but our boys did enough.
Tickets for the tie at Park View Road are available on the turnstiles, priced at £5 for Adults and £1 for Concessions and Under-18s.
