AFC Wimbledon vs Reading
Saturday 7th July, 12pm
Pre-season friendly
Cherry Red Records Stadium

We know that fans are likely to be otherwise engaged with a certain other match happening on Saturday afternoon, but you can whet your footballing appetite as the Royals ramp up their pre-season with a trip to face AFC Wimbledon.

Kick-off is at midday for this friendly, and our hosts are providing the option of sticking around to watch England's FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Sweden on Saturday afternoon.

The Dons are putting on an 'England Happy Hour' for fans staying at the ground to watch the game, where you can buy two pints and get a third for free - with the match on in the stadium bar from 3pm. You can see more information on that here.

On the pitch, though, it will be the first chance for Reading fans to see John O'Shea in action in a Royals shirt, having joined up with the squad for pre-season training at the start of this week.

After another tough week of training at Hogwood, the Royals face up to League One opposition as they take another step forward ahead of the new season starting.

With high-quality European opponents confirmed for their upcoming pre-season tour of Austria, the Dons will provide another good test for Paul Clement's side.

Reading fans who make the short journey to south west London on Saturday will be housed in the John Green Stand, with gates opening at the Cherry Red Records Stadium at 11am.
