Reading Football Club can confirm that midfielder George Evans has now completed a transfer to Derby County, signing for Frank Lampard’s side for an undisclosed fee.
Evans, who first joined the Royals from Manchester City back in January 2016, was entering the last year of his contract at Madejski Stadium and after a fee was accepted and personal terms agreed, the paperwork was signed this morning.
Evans had spent loan spells with Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United and Walsall prior to swapping the Etihad Stadium for RG2 in the mid-season transfer window in 2015-16.
During his two-and-a-half years as a Royal, Evans scored four goals in 48(+24) appearances – two of which came in consecutive games against Millwall and Birmingham City last August.
However, injury hindered his 2017-18 campaign and he started just nine Championship games for the Royals last season.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish George the very best of luck with his move to Pride Park and in his future career.
