Reading FC Women recently announced the signing of goalkeeper Rachael Laws from Sunderland ahead of the upcoming WSL1 season.
The goalkeeper joins following the recent departure of Mary Earps to German side, Wolfsburg, and Laws hopes to make an immediate impression this season.
Upon her arrival, Laws said: “Reading were always a team I looked at and wanted to be a part of. I only heard good things about them and its somewhere I want to personally be and thrive hopefully while I am here.”
Laws already has a Women's Super League medal to her name after a loan spell with Liverpool, but has spent the majority of her career to date with Sunderland.
She also earned her first call-up to the England squad last year, and will be hoping to play her way further into Phil Neville's plans with a strong campaign with the Royals.
Reading go into the WSL1 season off the back of their best ever finish in the league, earning a superb 4th place in the top tier, alongside a run to the semi-finals of the Continental Cup.
The first round of the Cup gets underway on August 18th-19th, while the new WSL1 season will get started on the weekend of 8th-9th September, with fixtures to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
