Wieser’s Royals contract mutually ended

We wish the Liechtenstein international the very best of luck in his future career

1 June 2018

Reading Football Club can confirm that the contract of midfielder Sandro Wieser has been mutually terminated in advance of its expiration next summer.

Wieser, who arrived in RG2 in August 2016, spent last season on loan with Belgian side KSV Roeselare – scoring once against Lierse in 6(+4) appearances for the Belgian First Division B outfit.

The former Basel and Hoffenheim midfielder was included in the Royals’ first team squad on six occasions in 2016-17 but didn’t make an appearance for the senior side.

He started seven times for our Under-21 and Under-23 sides, scoring once - in a Premier League 2 victory over Manchester City soon after putting pen to paper with the Royals.

However, niggling injuries hindered his progress in RG2 and everyone at the club would like to wish Sandro the very best of luck in his future career.
