A host of Royals called up for international duty

10 players called up across the age groups

The latest international break is upon us, and plenty of Royals have been called up to represent their nations in this time!

A selection of senior and Academy players have all been called up, with a full international programme scheduled during the gap in league fixtures.

After captaining his country for the first time during the last international break, Chris Gunter is likely to add to his significant tally of Wales caps as he travels to face China, with compatriot Dave Edwards announcing his international retirement last week after earning 43 caps for his country.

Mo Barrow will be away with the Gambia national squad as they take on the Central African Republic in a friendly, and he's likely to add to his international cap tally while he's away.

Goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola will be going away with his native Finland over the international break, with two friendlies awaiting them on their travels.

Leandro Bacuna will be away with Curacao for a pair of friendlies during the gap in fixtures, keeping himself involved with matches before a crucial clash against QPR at Madejski Stadium upon his return.

Pelle Clement has been getting a run of starts in the Reading line-up of late, and he has now been selected for the Netherlands' U21 squad during this international break. He will be part of the squad that plays a friendly against Belgium before an important European U21 Championship qualifier against Andorra.

Academy product Andrija Novakovich, currently on loan at Dutch second tier side Telstar, has seen his performances recognised, having received his first call-up to the full America squad as they take on Paraguay in the international break.

From the Academy, Danny Loader has been called up to the England U18 squad that will be taking in three friendlies over the international break, with the young attacker continuing to impress in the Academy - as well as making the squad for the first team against Wolves recently.

Goalkeeper Adam Desbois and midfielder Jack Nolan have both been given the nod to represent England U17s for the first time, with the Royals set to take part in a double-header of friendlies over the international break.

Fresh from signing a new contract with the club, Ben House has been called up to the Scotland U19 squad as they play two UEFA U19 Championship qualifiers.
