Ahead of the game | Trotters in town

Previewing Tuesday night’s Madejski meeting

5 March 2018

We’re set for an important evening under the floodlights in midweek – a win against Bolton Wanderers would prove a welcome boost.

We have had a full week away from competitive action… although not through choice!  Saturday’s visit to Wolves was aborted because of the snow, although the Trotters were able to host Preston and lost 3-1.

Our boys showed fighting spirit when we met under the Macron Stadium floodlights earlier this season, battling from two behind to take a point.  More mettle required when we meet again!

Tickets are on sale now and will be available to purchase on the day of the game for all home supporters. For all ticketing enquiries, follow the link to our Ticket Office page or contact the Ticket Office by phone on 0118 968 1313.

There have been important changes in car parking and bus travel for the upcoming season, with parking at Madejski Stadium now having to be pre-booked online, as well as a continuation of our bus subsidies with Reading Buses. There are more places to park than ever before, though, so click here and find out what the best option is for you!

The Royals are favourites according to EFL title sponsors Sky Bet at odds of 4/5, while visiting Bolton are 19/5 and a draw is 12/5.

Chris Martin is 9/2 for the first goal of the game, while Omar Richards – who has two in his last three games – is 50/1 to opening the scoring.

James Linington is the man in the middle – he’s overseen two of our home games this season, as we were defeated by Bristol City and Birmingham.  He has taken charge of just one Bolton game – their 1-1 draw at home against QPR in October.

Mark Russell and Steven Meredith are our linesmen and Brendan Malone is the fourth official for the evening.
