The Iceland international signed for the Royals from Tuesday's opponents in the summer, and Böðvarsson hopes he can produce the goods once more in front of his former side.

He goes into the game off the back of scoring his 10th of the season at the weekend, finishing calmly from a Sone Aluko through-ball against Leeds United.

Ahead of the game at Molineux, our top scorer said: "I can't wait! It's always what you're excited for, playing against your former team-mates and former club.

"I think it's a fantastic club, but first and foremost I'm looking forward to getting the most out of the game result-wise.

"I'm just excited and we're looking straight onto Tuesday now."

Böðvarsson added that Wolves' transformation this season came as something of a surprise, with the league leaders only managing a 15th place finish in the Championship last season.

Under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo and with several signings made, this has propelled Wolves to the top of the table and made them likely league winners this time around.

"Considering how last season went, with a lot of adversity, I think they made a huge difference culture-wise in the club this season," Böðvarsson continued.

"It's probably one of the best teams in the league right now, you want to play against the best teams and I think everybody's excited for that."
