The preparation ahead of 2018-19 has already begun and we can confirm that part of the pre-season fixture schedule will be a week-long trip to Austria in July.
A squad of first team players and coaching staff will fly to Vienna on the morning of Sunday 15th July and travel on for an hour south to set up camp in Bad Erlach, the Wiener Neustadt-Land district in the state of Lower Austria.
Located south of the River Danube and close to Austria’s borders with Hungary and Slovakia, the Royals will stay in camp for six nights and play two behind-closed-doors pre-season friendlies against opposition yet to be confirmed – one is expected to be played on the evening of Wednesday 18th July, with the second set to take place before the team’s flight back to the UK on Saturday 21st July.
On Wednesday, the first pre-season fixture of the summer was announced; we will kick off in Hampshire when the Royals travel to the Silverlake Stadium to take on National League side Eastleigh on Saturday 30th June, kick-off 12.30pm.
And more details surrounding the pre-season fixture schedule and our trip to Austria will be announced via the club’s official website and social media channels once all the details have been finalised.
