Danny Loader won a penalty in England Under-18s' opening fixture against Uruguay in the Panda Cup yesterday - helping his country pick up a point out in Chengdu, China.
The Royals forward started for Neil Dewsnip’s side and, after Thiago Vecino had put the South Americans ahead on the quarter-hour mark, Loader won a penalty to allow Crystal Palace’s Nya Kirby to level from the spot on the hour.
Manchester City’s Felix Nmecha then put the Young Lions in front before Nicolas Schiappacasse equalised to earn his side an opening day draw in China.
Next up for Loader and England is a clash against the host nation followed a game against Hungary on Sunday.
Loader, who was replaced with six minutes of the match remaining, is one of ten in the squad who helped England's U17s win the World Cup last October and was the only starter on Wednesday representing a club from outside of last season's Premier League teams.
