Upon turning 17 today, young forward Jack Nolan has signed his first professional contract with the club after an impressive 2017-18 campaign with the Under-18s, Under-23s and England!
Nolan’s talent has been evident from an early age - he has been regularly involved with our Under-18 side since the age of 15 and, last season, he made 20(+1) appearances in his first year of his scholarship.
Despite only celebrating his 17th birthday today, Nolan was involved in four of our Under-23 fixtures last season, helping Scott Marshall’s side secure a play-off place towards the end of an impressive Premier League 2 campaign.
Meanwhile, Jack also made strides on the international scene. His England Under-17 debut came against Turkey last August and he started against Italy at Aggborough in the final fixture of that St George’s Park tournament.
He went on to feature in the same squad for high profile friendlies against Portugal, Russia and Germany – coming off the bench to score a late winner against the Germans at the New York Stadium in Rotherham.
Now he has put pen to paper on a professional contract at Reading and will aim to improve further and make more progress within our Category One Academy and with England next season.
