The Royals are set to host Premier League outfit Crystal Palace at Madejski Stadium in what will be the team’s final pre-season fixture ahead of their 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
The fixture at Madejski Stadium will take place on Saturday 28th July at 3pm, giving Royals supporters the opportunity to watch their side in action on home soil ahead of the new season, beginning on Saturday 4th August.
Palace, who have been in English football’s top-flight since the 2013/14 campaign, impressively finished 11th in the league last term and will travel to RG2 ahead of their sixth successive Premier League season.
Managed by former England boss, Roy Hodgson, Reading last faced Crystal Palace in an FA Cup quarter-final tie, where the Eagles took the spoils thanks to two goals in the final four minutes of the match.
Paul Clement’s side currently hold the bragging rights though in-terms of the last pre-season meeting. Both Pogrebnyak and Adam Le Fondre were on-target back in 2012 to earn the Royals a deserved victory ahead of their first campaign back in the Premier League.
So far, the Royals have announced two pre-season friendlies, both of which are away against Eastleigh (30th June) and AFC Wimbledon (7th July).
Reading have also released details regarding their week-long pre-season tour to Austria, taking place from 15th-21st July.
Ticket details will be announced in due course and more information about our pre-season schedule this summer, including a final fixture, will be confirmed in the near future.
