FULL-TIME | Reading 3-2 Bristol City

Level at the interval because of goals by Yakou Meite and Liam Kelly... and Leandro Bacuna pops up with a second-half winner!

A terrific three points for Reading!

Liam Walsh steps up and strikes the free-kick... over the bar!  It's narrowly off target and there's just second left.

Bristol City win a free-kick deep into stoppage time, central and on the edge of the D.  Shooting chance...

Sam Baldock clips the heels of a City man and gets his name taken.

Five added minutes at the end of the 90 - 3-2 in Reading's favour as things stand...

Sam Walker stands strong and keeps out Andreas Weimann!

It was route one - the goalie launches forward, Diedhiou flicked on.  But our stopper did well to keep it out!

Final change as we look to shore things up for the final five minutes - Chris Gunter comes on for Mo Barrow.

Tremendous ball from Swift to pick apart the City defence and release Baldock on the run.  He's apprehended and a yellow card is shown - Weimann booked.

Bacuna, scorer of our third, does his defensive duty and heads away as Paterson sticks it in the mixer.

A dangerous delivery from the resulting corner and Walker can't make a clean connection as he tries to come to punch, but Diedhiou slips as he tries to put it back into the six-yard box.

Andy Rinomhota makes way and John Swift comes on to replace him.

Off the post by Brownhill!

A whipped delivery is attacked by Diedhiou, who gets a glancing header to it, and then Brownhill tries to stick it in at the far side but strikes the upright!

Double sub for the Robins.  Off come Niclas Eliasson and Jack Hunt, and on come Jamie Paterson and Lloyd Kelly.  That's all their changes made.

Garath McCleary puts his head in where it hurts...

Yellow card for Andy Rinomhota.  Barrow is shunted off the ball at one end but no free-kick given.  The Robins look to counter and sub Weimann charges downfield, only to be taken out by the Reading midfielder.

It was McCleary who set off the attack down the left, finding Bacuna on the flank. He found Barrow overlapping, and then got into a central position to receive a return ball.  A touch to control, another to step in, and one more to strike low into the corner.

GOAL! 3-2!

For the third time today, Reading lead!  Lovely play and a smartly-taken goal by Leandro Bacuna!

Liam Walsh pulls a shot wide for the Robins.  Niclas Eliasson made space, sent in a cross and Liam Moore did well to turn away... but it fell to Walsh, who steered a few yards past the post.

First sub of the afternoon for Bristol City as Andreas Weimann replaces Matty Taylor.

A coming together between Leandro Bacuna and Liam Walsh - both escape with just a yellow. A fracas in the centre circle but just bookings.

A minute later at the other end, so close to a third for Reading. Bacuna wins the ball in the final third and makes a beeline for the box, but he delays the strike and Webster gets a toe in before Dasilva smashes clear.

Kalas with a snap-shot - well taken by Walker.  The centre-half was supporting Bristol City's attack and is denied by our goalie.

A sluggish start to the second half.  But Liam Moore is alive to the danger when Brownhill's flick-on nearly finds its way to Diedhiou and he plays his way out well.

Bristol City get the ball rolling in the second period.

Come on URZ!

The two teams take to the field for the second period.

All to play for.  No sign of any changes for either outfit.

HALF-TIME | Reading 2-2 Bristol City

The Royals led twice, but have been pegged back on each occasion.  Yakou Meite's fourth in four and a stunner by Liam Kelly, but the Robins replied through Marlon Pack and Josh Brownhill.

Goal... 2-2.  The Royals won't take a lead into the break as the Robins scramble in from close range.  It's Josh Brownhill who gets the final touch.

GOOOOAAAALLL! 2-1 - and it's a cracker by Liam Kelly!

What a hit from the midfielder.  The Robins defence try to shut out the danger but he finds half a yard from 20 yards to pop into the top corner!

Chance for the Robins to take the lead as the ball is played into the area for Taylor to head goalwards - great stop by Walker!

Approaching the break and little in the way of goalmouth action at the moment.  The teams tied up at 1-1, although the Robins have a free-kick 35 yards out - a chance to play into the danger area.

Sam Baldock in possession for Reading.

That's the end of the afternoon for Yakou Meite, whose injury forces him off the field.

On comes Garath McCleary in his place.

Clever turn by Liam Walsh to wriggle free and he plays into the feet of Famara Diedhiou - takes a touch to control and spin, and then hits with sheer venom.  Narrowly over Sam Walker's goal.

Suddenly the Robins have a bit of a spring in their step... and they could have gone ahead, if not for a smart near-post stop by Sam Walker.  Pack's pinpoint diagonal ball set Hunt racing into space on the right, and his dangerous cross found its way to Eliasson on the far side... Walker got down to his effort from a narrow angle.

Another stoppage, and again Yakou Meite needs treatment.  He pulls up and is being assessed by the physio - he's getting some magic spray applied to his ankle.

Goal - 1-1.  Marlon Pack levels things up for the visitors, midway through the first period.

It's a neat, slipped ball by Jack Hunt to the midfielder, who had escaped onside through the middle in a crowded Reading box.  A firm finish to level for Bristol City.

Just over from Bacuna! It's all Reading at the moment but the Curacao international can't find the target.

It all started with a smart turn in midfielder by Rinomhota, totally selling a couple of Robins opponents.  A quick exchange to work it to Bacuna but a wayward shot.

Another nice move from Reading - Tyler Blackett storms forward in support of the attack and gets to the edge of the area.  He plays back to Liam Kelly in a central position, but the midfielder arrows his shot over Max O'Leary's crossbar. Still 1-0.

Smart build-up by Reading as Baldock skips past a man and drives towards the defence.  The ball is played wide to Barrow, who whips in, and Yiadom snatches at a chance as the defence half-clear.  It's over.

A bit of a lull since the goal - no real test as yet to Sam Walker, who returned to the side today.

GOAAALLLL! It's Yakou Meite again!

Kelly whips a cross towards Baldock - the visiting defence can't do much more than set than kill the ball dead inside their own area, allowing Meite to slam in on his left peg! 1-0!

Great hassling by full league debutant Andy Rinomhota to win possession on the right.

He slots a ball towards Meite on the edge of the box, but the Royals man wasn't expecting the early pass and had his back to the ball.  City clear.

Less than 90 seconds into the game and we have a stoppage - Yakou Meite and Tomas Kalas clash heads as the Royals man tries to win a header in the Robins' third.

The pair eventually get to their feet and look okay to continue - after some treatment.

Kick-off! We're underway at Madejski Stadium.
