Darren Bond to take charge of our final fixture before the international break...

7 November 2018

The name's Bond...Darren Bond. The referee from Lancashire is the man with the whistle to his lips this weekend.

He has refereed the Royals once already this season, seeing us win 3-2 at Preston North End to pick up our first victory of the season back in mid-September. Andy Yiadom and Joshua Earl picked up yellow cards in that five-goal thriller at Deepdale.

Three days later, Bond was at Portman Road to preside over a 1-1 draw between Ipswich Town and Brentford - Kayden Jackson cancelling out Neal Maupay's first half opener in Suffolk.

Last season, Bond issued eight red cards across a total of 40 fixtures - and one of those was delivered to Royals midfielder Dave Edwards at Villa Park at the start of April.

Bond took up the whistle at 15, he progressed to the Select Group 2 referees list armed with more than 20 years of refereeing experience, which included a year as an assistant referee in the Premier League.
