Our Community Trust applied for a governmental Innovation Fund this year and have recently been able to use it to invest in a Learning Zone for local schools as part of the Premier League's Primary Stars initiative
Last week, the Learning Zone was set up in the Media Suite at Madejski Stadium and, going forward, it will be permanently based inside The Royals Bus, which is situated in the Fun Zone on matchdays when not travelling to local schools and events with our Trust coaches.
The aim of the Learning Zone programme is to give additional support to students in Years 5 and 6 - using Reading Football Club to help engage and inspire young people to learn.
The programme is being delivered by a fully-qualified teacher, Julie Wilson, who possesses more than 27 years' experience working with young people in education.
The first Active Learning visit to the Madejski stadium saw some of our Year 6 pupils learn facts about the stadium and then participate in a quiz. The children had an amazing time! pic.twitter.com/MhBQySMOXy

Nine Mile Ride Primary School were the first to enter our Learning Zone last week, Year 6 pupils taking a tour of the Royals' home to learn facts about the stadium and club before participating in a quiz.
The children had a great time and we look forward to connecting with a number of local schools in the weeks that follow.
