Clement preparing to build in the next block

Manager on getting ready over international weekend

11 October 2018

A blank weekend upcoming for Reading, owing to the international break. When we return, we’ll have five games in the space of just over three weeks – and manager Paul Clement wants to make sure that that block of games is more fruitful.

That includes home fixtures against Millwall, Bristol City and Ipswich and visits to Birmingham and Swansea… a good return from those games could see us elevated higher in the league standings.

“We have had a tough start to the season, no question,” Clement said.

“Before the first international break, we had two points.  And during this latest block of games, we picked up seven.

“So we have made a forward step – and that’s what we’ll try to do in the next block as well.

“And after the upcoming break, we have another block of five games coming up.  First of all we’ll reflect on what has happened in this last block, then we’ll have a couple of weeks training to get ready again.

“A few players will be going away with their international teams, and we’ll go again for another run of games – starting at the Madejski against Millwall!”

Tickets are on sale now for that game against Millwall on our home patch – we’ll need your support once again!  Click the link below for ticket information.
