All you need to know as Championship football returns this weekend, with the Royals travelling north...
Preston North End vs Reading
Saturday 15th September
Sky Bet Championship
Having had a weekend without league football, the Royals return to Sky Bet Championship action away at Alex Neil's Preston North End.
Players such as Leandro Bacuna, Anssi Jaakkola, Chris Gunter, Jón Daði Böðvarsson, Andy Yiadom and David Meyler have all returned from international duty and could play a part for the team this weekend.
The squad have undergone a full training schedule during the gap in fixtures, keeping themselves match fit all the way through the international break.
Garath McCleary has returned to light training having been out since February, playing an hour for our U23s in a friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
Reading were on the wrong side of a 1-0 reverse at Deepdale last season, but will be hoping to bring all three points back from Lancashire this time around.
Preston have started the season steadily but so far have not lived up to the standards they set last time around - challenging for a play-off position right to the very end.
Despite overcoming Morecambe and Leeds United in the Carabao Cup and beating QPR on the opening day of the season, the Lilywhites haven't won in the league since.
Alex Neil's side came away without points from tricky away trips at Norwich and Derby, but earned creditable draws against Stoke City and local rivals Bolton Wanderers before the international break.
