FULL TIME | Reading 3-0 Hull City

A win that the home crowd greet with a huge roar. Three valuable points at home and a performance full of purpose and determination.

Hull have run out of ideas. Walker shouts loud to claim a cross and smothers it to kill a few more seconds as we look to secure our first home win and our first clean sheet of the league campaign.

Four minutes of injury time are signalled...

Elphick is booked for a late challenge on Bodvarsson.

The ball is in the net! But it's been disallowed. A thunderous set piece deflects off the wall and past a wrongfooted Walker.

But it's not a goal. The referee and the Reading defenders all saw a handball by Jackson Irvine that caused the deflection.

Chris Gunter comes on for Liam Kelly as Hull prepare to take a free kick on the very edge of the Royals area.

OFF! John O'Shea slides in to foul Martin as he looks to latch onto a direct ball forward.

He's already on a yellow, but the former Manchester United defender is shown a straight red.

GOOOAAALLL! It's a first Royals goal for Andy Yiadom.

A lovely passing move on the edge of the Hull box ends with the ball at the feet of Yiadom. He turns in a congested box and stabs the ball past a helpless Marshall and into the bottom right corner.

Excellent work from Bodvarsson to hold the ball up and play it into space for Barrow to run onto.

He supplies Sims, but the winger's arcing shot is wide of the right post.

SAVE! Walker is forced into action as a knock down falls to Martin who rifles goalwards.

The Royals stopper parries it well though.

Moore makes sure a deflected cross aimed at Martin doesn't reach the former Royals loanee.

The subsequent corner is headed harmlessley over by Burke.

GOOOOAAALLL! It's 2-0.

Barrow toes the ball into Yiadom who evades the tackle in a crowded box and feeds Bodvarsson to his right. He takes a touch and drives past Marshall and into the bottom left corner for 2-0.

And Sam Baldock's afternoon is over. The goalscorer is replaced by Mo Barrow.

Saeid Ezatolahi is being replaced by John Swift. A good ovation for the debutant as he leaves the field.

Double change for Hull - Bowen is replaced by Grosicki and Stewart is off for Chris Martin.

O'Shea is back on the pitch sporting some sort of wound to his mouth. Reading had played the last five minutes with a man less.

John O'Shea slided in on Campbell and doesn't get the ball. Instead he needs treatment and is show a yellow card for the tackle.

CHANCE! A lovely throughball dissects the Royals back line and Kane is in on goal.

But Ilori spots the danger and forces him a little wide and to take the shot early, sliding in to deflect it wide for a corner.

CHANCE! The ball it looped over the defender and into Yiadom's path.

He scurries forward and get to the byline inside the Hull box, but his cut back is intercepted by a City man and the visitors escape.

We're underway in the second half. Come on URRRRZZZZZ!

The Royals have reappeared for the second half to hearty applause.

A one-goal advantage at the break thanks to Sam Baldock's early goal.  45 important minutes coming up for Reading... come on URRRRZZZ!

This man has come close on a couple of occasions in the first half. Can he find the net in the second half?

HALF-TIME | Reading 1-0 Hull City

Sam Baldock's first Madejski Stadium goal has sent Paul Clement's men into the dressing room with a lead to hold onto.

CHANCE! With the last kick of the half, Jackson Irvine arrives onto a dinked cross from Bowen on the right.

Unmarked he volleys it over the crossbar to the Royals' relief.

OFFSIDE! For the second time, City tap into the back of the net.

Bowen wriggled free on the right side of the box and arrowed a low shot at goal which Walker can't keep hold of. It falls free for Kane to tap home into an empty net...but from an offside position.

CHANCE! Bacuna collects the ball from Ilori on the right and floats a cross to the back post where Baldock is unmarked.

The angle is tight but he heads it towards the bottom corner but Marshall turns it around his post.

FREE KICK! Bodvarsson turns and strides towards the edge of the area.

But his ankles are clipped before he can pull the trigger, Henriksen the offender.

OFF THE LINE! Bodvarsson rises to nod a cross into the box towards the bottom left corner, but a Hull defender is on the line to hack it clear.

Fraizer Campbell is shown a yellow for a late challenge on Bacuna.

SAVE! A wonderful free kick from Bacuna!

He curls it over the Hull wall from 25 yards out and it takes a fingertip stop from Marshall to tip it over the crossbar.

Good build up play in midfield earns Bodvarsson the chance to shoot.

He gets an effort away from just inside the box but Reece Burke's diving block deflects it behind for a corner.

Liam Kelly brings the ball down brilliantly on the byline and lays the ball off to begin another Royals attack - it ends with Baldock crossing into the box and winning a corner.

Hull have the ball in the back of the net but long after Todd Kane was flagged for offside in the build up to a low cross which Fraizer Campbell tapped home.

Sims threads a nice pass into Bodvarsson who turns and is in behind. But the offside flag is up against the Icelander.

Jarrod Bowen is allowed to cut inside from the right and he skids a low left-footed shot across goal but wide of the bottom left corner.

CHANCE! Sims wins a free kick on the right which is swept into the Hull box. Moore wins it, Hull half clear it to Sims who cushions a volley back into the danger zone and Bodvarsson glances it instintively goalwards but just over!

GOAL! Bacuna delivers a lovely inswinging corner which is headed by Ezatolahi. David Marshall makes the save but Baldock reacts quickly to hook the loose ball home from six yards out! Get in!

Bacuna has been given more of a licence to get forward and he darts down the right and fizzes a low cross in which Lichaj has to turn behind for a corner...

NICE MOVE! Ilori skids a low pass into the middle where Kelly touches it first time into the path of Bodvarsson, but the Icelander snatches at a first time effort and it bobbles wide.

Right...let's do this!! Come on URRRRZZZZZZ!
