FULL-TIME | Reading 1-2 Norwich City

The Canaries hang on to the slender lead and claim all three points at Madejski Stadium.

Wonderful run from Swift all the way from his own half, but he's just off target with his effort from the edge of the area.

There's going to be FIVE added minutes for the Royals to try and claim a late leveller...

Save by Sam Walker!  He denies Vrancic, who spun into space in the area. Good reaction save to keep it to 2-1.

All changes made for Norwich, as Jordan Rhodes replaces Marco Stiepermann.

Into the final 10 minutes and trailling 2-1... but working hard to get level again.

Yellow card for Max Aarons.  The Norwich right-back takes too long to deliver a throw-in - deemed to be time-wasting.

Great energy by Andy Yiadom to get back and prevent Norwich captain Alex Tettey from turning in.

It was a lightning-quick breakaway by Teemu Pukki on the left and a square ball for the skipper... but the full-back intervenes.

A second change for Norwich.

Off comes Moritz Leitner, on comes Tom Trybull.

Goal - 2-1 to Norwich.

Less than a minute after the Royals got back on terms, Canaries sub Vrancic reestablishes their lead by steering an effort inside the far post as he swivelled in the area.

Jón Daði Böðvarsson levels it up, tucking in from close range!

Jón Daði Böðvarsson is the third and final Royals sub - comes on for Liam Kelly.

An attacking change as we continue to chase the one-goal deficit.

Daniel Farke makes Norwich's first change - Emi Buendia replaced by Mario Vrancic.

Second Reading sub - Sone Aluko comes off, Josh Sims is on.

Another straight swap as the Southampton loanee takes up the right-flank berth.

Baldock with a chance... but can't pull the trigger before a tackle comes in!

A lovely exchange and a great ball in by Barrow but the forward hestitated a fraction too long and the chance is snuffed out.

First sub for the Royals.  Yakou Meite makes way, and on comes Modou Barrow.

That'll be a straight swap on the left flank.  1-0 to the visitors as we approach the hour-mark.

Really good chance for Yiadom but he strikes into the side netting.

Swift's ball across the face was cut out but the full-back dispossessed the Norwich defender... had room to pick out a shot but pulled his effort wide of the near post, into the side netting.

Gunter booked - a second name taken for the Royals.

Slides in on Jamal Lewis - catches the man heavily and gets cautioned.

Baldock strikes the post... and so does Aluko!

But the offside flag was already up - neither of the efforts would have counted.  Baldock went a fraction early on Kelly's through-ball.

Vital block by Ilori to deny Buendia from a tight angle!

Norwich won the ball back high upfield and a quick interchange allowed the Argentine to strike.  Good defending to keep it out.

Baldock comes close to equalising, just 30 seconds into the second half!

Nice build-up down the right between Kelly and Gunter - Kelly's cross finds the striker in the middle but his close-range effort is blocked out.

Second half underway!

Liam Kelly gets the ball rolling. We're kicking towards the Eamonn Dolan Stand in this half.

Teams are back out from the tunnel - second half is imminent.

No sign of a change for either side.  45 minutes to overturn a 1-0 deficit.

HALF-TIME | Reading 0-1 Norwich City

Teemu Pukki's 14th-minute goal gives the Canaries the advantage at the break.

Bacuna swings over a free-kick - headed clear initially, and then Kelly's volley on the follow up is deflected an allows Krul to claim.

Half-time impending.

Sensible stuff from referee Tim Robinson as Aluko takes a ball to the face and goes down with a head injury - the ref instantly stops play and calls on the medical team.

He'll be okay to play on.  An unfortunate event, too - Meite's strike deflects off a Norwich defender, and straight into his teammate's face with some velocity.

Thunderous strike by Yakou Meite but Tim Krul pulls off a save to match!

It was a ball forward by Aluko which found Baldock on the run - he was tackled but it fell invitingly for the Ivorian to strike.  Great save to deny a leveller.

Terrific overlapping run by Gunter... but his low cross from the byline is cut out just before it reaches Swift!

Perfectly timed run from the full-back and a well-weighted ball by Aluko to find him on the sprint.  Nicely worked but no reward at the end of it.

The game's first yellow card goes to Yakou Meite.

A heavy-handed block on Max Aarons as the pair battle for the ball on the Royals' left flank and he's cautioned.

Midway through the first half - Aluko has a pop for the Royals but fires wide.

A quick break from Reading and the wide-man used Gunter's overlap on the right to work room inside - cut onto his left peg but pulled his effort into the side netting from outside the area.

20 minutes played, and Pukki's goal is the difference so far.

Both teams hassling and harrying and trying to make things difficult for their opponents.

Not far away from earning a fortuitous leveller as Norwich's defence suffer a miscommunication...

A back-pass from Timm Klose drifts a yard past the post for a corner - it was meant for goalie Tim Krul.

Goal - 1-0 to Norwich.

Teemu Pukki is played in on the left and cuts inside, and bends an effort hard and low past the dive of Walker - it tucks inside the side netting for the game's opener.

Norwich looking lively in possession and Buendia is next to go close for the Canaries.

Clever play from the midfield man to roll a marker - allows him to work room to shoot from 25 yards, but it's down the throat of Sam Walker, who saves comfortably.

Close for the Canaries! But over the bar and the game remains goalless.

Leitner was fouled near the byline, and Stiepermann chipped in a free-kick which was met by the towering head of Zimmermann... just off target. 0-0.

No goalmouth action to talk about so far - but a good move by the Royals almost opens things up!

Swift, Meite, Kelly and Baldock all involved in a quick interchange at the front end of the pitch but the Norwich defence cover their angles well.

Teemu Pukki gets the game going for Norwich at Madejski Stadium.

The Royals are shooting towards the South Stand in the first half.

Here come the teams!

Liam Moore and Alex Tettey lead out the two sides... come on URZ!

Just a few minutes away from getting going!

Tonight's visitors get comfy in the Madejski Stadium surroundings.

35 minutes until we're underway!
