We’re delighted to reveal that Danny Loader has been named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August 2018.
Three goals in four appearances for our Under-23s in Premier League 2 and the Premier League International Cup, plus impressive all-round displays, earned the 18-year-old a place amongst eight other shortlisted nominees.
That included two wins and a draw in what has been a positive start for Scott Marshall’s U23 side as a whole.
But Danny saw off all the competition and beat rivals from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea to claim the first individual award of the PL2 season.
If August was good for Danny, then September is looking on course to be even better! Two goals for the Royals’s Under-23s in a 4-2 win in Newcastle kick-started the month, and then he notched another brace with England’s Under-19s against the Netherlands last week.
He could feature again for the Young Lions later today when they face Belgium, and his first game back in the hooped shirt could come this Friday when the U23s are back to action with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
Congratulations to Danny on winning this well-deserved award!
