McShane opens new local outdoor gym

Captain visits The Avenue School in Reading

13 September 2018

Royals captain, Paul McShane went to visit The Avenue School to open their new outdoor gym!

Our captain, also an Ambassador for the club's Community Trust disabled projects, went to open the gym and meet the pupils at the local school - with whom the club has had a long-standing relationship.

The Avenue School Special Needs Academy is a day school for boys and girls from the age of 2–19 with complex Special Educational Needs.

All pupils are supported by either a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan and will have at least a severe learning difficulty.

The Avenue School is situated close to the centre of Reading and is the only school of this type within the borough.

The new outdoor gym installed at the school will give the pupils the chance to exercise in a safe outdoor environment, while having fun and keeping fit!
