A Brentford free-kick is lobbed forward, but it's well beyond anyone and out for a goal kick. Emi Martínez might take his time over this.

Five added minutes. Reading fans roaring their team on here, who still lead 2-1 as it stands.

Final substitution of the day, and Nélson Oliveira is swapped out for Tyler Blackett.

One minute of normal time remaining.

Callum Harriott now sees yellow for a late foul on Canos in midfield. This is very tense.

Second substitution for Reading, as the goal scorer, Yakou Méïté comes off with a standing ovation. Callum Harriott is on in his place.

A Reading corner from Baker is cleared by Brentford - who break quickly.

Marcondes is in space and tries to loft it into the box, but Martínez beats Maupay to it.

Final substitution for Brentford, as Marcus Forss comes on for Moses Odubajo.

Big save from Martínez there.

The ball comes in from the Brentford left, Sorensen gets a head on it and the goalkeeper makes a key dive across goal to palm away.

Plenty still to be decided in this match. Reading have dominated the second half, but the score remains 2-1.

Reading break from a Brentford corner, with Rinomhota finding McCleary with an outside-of-the-boot pass on the left. McCleary switches to Ejaria, who finds space in the middle and shoots low, Daniels is at full stretch but his effort goes wide.

Second substitution for Brentford - Emiliano Marcondes comes on for Josh Da Silva.

Meanwhile for the Royals, Mo Barrow is replaced by Garath McCleary.

ANOTHER massive chance for the Royals goes begging!

Yiadom gets forward again on the right, firing low across goal for Oliveira - who can't get over the ball and his close-range volley clears the bar.

Baker spreads a 35-yard pass to Yiadom on the right, who speeds past his man to hang up a cross in the box. Méïté, on a hat-trick, gets there first - heading half-a-yard over the crossbar.

30 crucial minutes remain here at Madejski Stadium. The temperature is dropping, but the intensity certainly isn't.

First change of the game goes to the visitors, with Sergi Canos replacing the injured Said Benrahma - who limps off the pitch.

Chris Gunter now sees yellow for Reading after a cynical tug on Dalsgaard in midfield. The game is starting to become more agitated here.

Lewis Baker spots the goalkeeper off his line, trying to lob the goalkeeper from the resulting free-kick from all of 45 yards out.

Daniels tracks back quickly, making a fantastic save to tip it over the bar. Great improvisation from the Reading man.

Mads Bech Sorensen sees yellow for Brentford, scything Andy Rinomhota down in midfield on the break.

A speculative cross from Dalsgaard into the area is taken by the wind and towards the top corner.

Emi Martínez has to be alert as he jumps up to catch.

We're underway once more, 45 very important minutes to go!

HALF TIME | Reading 2-1 Brentford

A good half from the Royals, but a late goal from Maupay in the half puts them right back in contention for the second half.

Brentford have one back, a lethal Benrahma free-kick is spilled into the path of Maupay, who slots into the bottom corner.

First card of the day goes to Andy Rinomhota, for a late foul in midfield.

Best chance of the half for the visitors.

A corner is flicked on to the far post and 25-goal top scorer, Neal Maupay, waiting in space. He shoots through the crowded box, with Martínez just about able to claim.

Reading work the ball across the box, to Andy Yiadom - who cuts in and fires low, but well wide of the Brentford goal.

It's been an excellent half so far for the Royals, seven minutes to see through until the break.

Another good chance for Reading!

Baker lifts it over the top of the Brentford defence, with Oliveira giving chase. He's held up on the edge of the box, cutting onto his left foot and forcing Daniels into a low save to his left.

Brentford threaten the Reading goal for the first time in earnest.

Josh Da Silva finds space from 25 yards, firing towards the far corner but Martínez flies across his goal to save - holding onto it, too.

Reading get forward once more, as Ejaria tries to thread through to Barrow in the Brentford box. Daniels gets off his line quickly to beat him to it, however.

Reading doing their best to take the momentum out of the game as it stands, two goals to the good thanks to Yakou Méïté's fine early brace.

Brentford come back at the Royals, with a high cross to the far post trying to find Watkins - which Gunter blocks away for a corner.

Lewis Baker arrows a free-kick in from the right-hand side, Méïté gets above his man and heads across goal into the bottom corner!

It's all Reading here.

Oliveira tries another effort from inside the box but Dalsgaard gets in the way. Brentford having trouble getting out of their half at the moment.

Huge shout for a penalty for Reading - denied by the referee!

Méïté looks like he's being held in the box as he goes up for a cross, the ref waves it away and Reading come again.

Oliveira puts a low ball across goal and Barrow can't apply the vital touch at the crucial moment. Should be 2-0 to the Royals.

Liam Moore plays a ball out of the back to Mo Barrow - who slides a fantastic ball through to Méïté on the run.

Daniels is off his line, and the Ivorian doesn't hesitate in sliding under the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner!

Brentford get forward for the first time, with Ollie Watkins being the recipient of a one-two on the edge of the box.

His shot is tame, though, and Emi Martínez gratefully gathers.

The Royals play keep-ball in the opening minutes here, marshalling their own half well and keeping the visitors at arm's length.
