Reading manager, José Gomes has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for March.
After a month which saw the Royals climb out of the relegation zone, picking up 10 points out of a possible 15, Gomes has been recognised by the Sky Bet Championship for a fruitful month from a Reading perspective.
March started in the most dramatic of fashions, with two last-gasp winners against direct rivals in Ipswich Town and Wigan Athletic setting the tone for Reading's recent run of form - earning vital points along the way.
A difficult evening against high-flying Leeds United followed, but Gomes rallied his troops to earn another valuable point on a blustery afternoon away at Stoke City.
The return from the international break rounded off the month, with Gomes and his team ending Preston North End's 12-match unbeaten run in fine style - thanks to goals from Yakou Méïté and Mo Barrow.
Sky Bet have detailed Gomes' fellow nominees as follows:
Daniel Farke (Norwich City)
The German keeps being nominated because his team keeps winning. Five straight victories in March, which established a five-point lead, were built as much on resilience and determination as on Norwich’s free-flowing football.
James Shan (West Bromwich Albion)
Thrust unexpectedly into the caretaker role with Albion in danger of slipping out of the play-off positions, he has skilfully re-established calmness and stability among his players, who responded with nine points from nine.
Dean Smith (Aston Villa)
A perfect month and maximum 15 points from five games included wins over three Midlands rivals - Derby, Nottingham Forest and, of course, Birmingham.
Congratulations to José on his nomination, and the winner of March's award will be announced on Friday 12th April.
