Manager, Moore and McIntyre speak exclusively to fan podcasts

Supporters grill Royals with in-depth one-on-one interviews

17 April 2019

At Reading Football Club, we aim engage with our supporters as often and in as many new ways as possible. And in recent weeks, we have opened the Hogwood gates to some of our most communicative fans!

Podcasts are now a mainstream, accessible and digestible way for football fans to engage with their club, so we offered exclusive interviews to three fan podcasts - helping to build a direct bridge  between the fan in the stands and the players out on the pitch.

First up was Episode One of the Living The Dream Podcast featuring an extended interview with one of oure Academy graduates who is living his dream. First team defender Tom McIntyre met Isaac Farnworth and Miles Wood-Blagrove and spoke at length to his former schoolmates to offer a really interesting insight into his rise through the ranks at Reading.

You can listen to the podcast now on Sound Cloud and find out a bit more about the Royals fan who broke into the first team.

A day later, @TheTilehurstEnd were sat across a table with manager José Gomes for nearly an hour! The Royals boss went into detail about his philosophy, his journey as a manager and his period of national service with presenter Marc Mayo.

The Royals fan site posted their interview in full on The Tilehurst End - well worth a listen for all Royals fans.

Then, this week, @ElmParkRoyals were represented by Paul Mann - who spoke to centre-back, Liam Moore.

Liam didn’t hesitate in accepting the invitation and chatted at length about his career, the Royals’ current challenge and his future aspirations. Keep your eyes peeled on social media for the podcast.

Our supporters remain at the heart of everything our club stands for, so we were delighted to break down boundaries and open the doors to some of our fans for in-depth interview opportunities.

We hope to run similar opportunities in the future.
