José | "We must be brave and adapt in all our games"

The Reading boss looks ahead to West Brom test

20 August 2019

José Gomes emphasised the importance of keeping focus ahead of Wednesday night's match against West Bromwich Albion, insisting that the Royals do not have time to celebrate too much after a victory.

The Royals got three points on the board on Sunday after a comfortable 3-0 win over Cardiff City at Madejski Stadium, but focus immediately turns to facing the Baggies at The Hawthorns on Wednesday evening.

"They're a very, very good side. Fantastic players, high quality and we must face all of them - the completely different teams in the Championship.

"Some of them have a passing game, some have long balls and fight for the seconds, some teams play on the counter-attack using the speed of their players.

"We must face all of them, be brave and adapt in all the games. We know one thing, they all have a very strong fight side.

"We don't have too much time to celebrate, we've won three important points but it's a long season we have in front of us. We have 43 more games, we must be prepared, rested, eat properly to be ready to play again on Wednesday. We need to keep our focus and prepare."
